Structural Types & Formats
Weld Neck Flanges (WNRF)
Features a long tapered hub that gradually transfers stress from the flange to the pipe. Essential for severe conditions involving high pressure, sub-zero temperatures, or cyclic loading.
Slip-On Flanges (SORF)
Slips directly over the pipe and is secured with top and bottom fillet welds. Highly preferred for lower pressure applications due to reduced fabrication costs and easier alignment.
Blind Flanges (BLRF)
Manufactured without a center bore to completely terminate piping systems or seal pressure vessel openings. Must withstand the highest bending stresses at the center point.
Lap Joint Flanges
Used in conjunction with a stub end fitting. The flange freely rotates over the pipe, allowing for rapid bolt-hole alignment—ideal for systems requiring frequent dismantling for inspection.
